NBA joins forces with Keenan on a series of exciting farm walks from Devon to Aberdeenshire

NBA members are being urged not to missed out on a series of farm walks being planned for early October with the theme of “Overcoming obstacles to profitable beef production”.

The four events, in Devon, Northamptonshire, Northumberland and Aberdeenshire, will each be held on a top performing beef farm with contributions from the farmer and four organisations invited by Keenan to participate.

Both Keenan and Alltech will look at beef feeding systems, from finishing lots to suckler cow winter rations, while Eblex (replaced by QMS at the Scottish event) will speak about technical efficiency and driving profitability.

The NBA will play its role by looking at the current position of the beef sector and where it is heading, speaking on the topic of “Price and Policy: what the market and the Government has in store for the future."

Local processors and auctioneers have also been invited, to give an overview of live/deadweight selling options in the local area, and the hope is for lively discussion on each of the farms.

The events are free but farmers are asked to register in advance. Each starts at 4pm, finishing around 7pm and with refreshments provided.
