Farmers Have Your Say: Livestock farmer’s opinions are being invited on Whole Life Assurance
23rd February 2015
The National Beef Association (NBA) has launched an Independent survey to determine livestock farmer’s opinions on Red Tractor’s Proposal to introduce a whole life assurance for livestock.
Red Tractor is consulting on whether there should be Whole Life Assurance, and during the last three weeks, since the details were announced, there has been much debate and a series of consultation meetings across the UK.
With Hundreds of beef farmers and 30 Breed Society Members, the NBA, represents the British beef industry at all levels. They are inviting feedback though this survey to determine British Beef Farmers’ views on the suggested proposals from Red Tractor and also seeking a farmer response/opinion on the most recently updated standards introduced last October.
The Big Farm Survey is available for completion until Thursday 20th March, with results being announced the following week.
Chris Mallon, Chief Executive of the NBA, gives some further background to as to what is hoped to be achieved through this survey:
“This is a one-off opportunity for all British beef farmers to have their say in the outcome for the proposal for “Whole Life Assurance”, and we are encouraging as many as possible to take the survey and influence the outcome. Anyone is welcome to give their views, not just members of the NBA.”
The results of this survey will give a definitive view of what British beef farmers feel about the proposals from Red Tractor”.
The Big Independent Farm Survey can be completed on line at www.nationalbeefassociation.com. Paper copies are available from the NBA at NBA Head Office, Mart Centre, Tyne Green, Hexham, NE46 3SG, tel: 01434 601005, or e-mail: [email protected].
