NBA Scotland Priorities and Policies are:-

NBA Scotland is dedicated to representing the interests of is members through lobbying of political and administrative decision-makers within the Scottish Executive, Devolved Governments/Administrations and the EU on beef industry related matters.

The provision and dissemination of technical information relevant to members businesses and the regular staging of meetings or forums in which beef industry matters can be discussed are also important NBA Scotland considerations.

NBA Scotland Priorities and Policies are to:
• Direct as much pillar two modulation funding towards profitable cattle production businesses particularly  thesupport of cattle in hill areas through LFASS funding.
• Lobby government on the benefits of cattle in environmental programmes (RDPS).
• Work with the NFUS to considerably reduce the substantial burden of regulation  requirements and red tape forced on beef farmers. 
• Encourage beef producers to review their businesses to achieve efficiencies.
• Gather facts on emerging issues like carbon foot printing, methane outputs, and  bi-products.
• Lobby governments to improve border bio-security.
• Get assurances that imported beef meets equivalent assurance standards.
• Represent beef producers on QMS Standard Certification Committees.
• Support all organisations representing Scottish Beef farmers (NFUS, SAMW, QMS, and  Crofters).  
• Campaign to improve the price given for Scottish livestock by the trade.
• Put pressure on supermarket chains to stop the co-mingling of Scotch branded beef.
• Work with processors to get more dead weight information back to finishers and breeders.
• Work with QMS to increase the consumption and promotion of the Scotch Beef brand.
• Ensure beef producers get a fair deal in sharing responsibilities and costs of  cattle disease policies.
• Encourage exports of beef, beef products and pedigree cattle.
• Lobby government to get an exempt for land holders who must own 4x4 vehicles from  the recent increase in road tax payment.
